User guide for the Menu editor extension

The menu is typically used to navigate between content pages. The menu can be managed using the Menu editor extension. The extension is shown below, and consists of two sections.

The use of the two sections is described below.

Section 1 - Link details

This section is used to create new links in the menu, and modify existing links. Links are created under the selected item in section 2. If no item is selected, the new link will be created in the root of the menu (top level). All links must have a title, while the address (URL) is optional. The menu link will not be usuable if no address is filled out, and will simply represent a headline for menu links below it. By clicking the folder icon to the right of the URL address field, a list of extensions and content pages are shown, to which links can be created. A link to an external page can be added, by simply typing the URL address, ie http://google.com

Section 2 - Menu structure

The menu links can be managed in this part of the extension. By clicking a menu link, this can be modified, removed or moved up and down in the structure, using the arrows. A menu link can be moved up and down under the menu link in which it is placed. In the example above the marked menu link Manual may be moved up and down between the other menu links under Information.

Missing menu links: Menu links might not show up on the webside, even though they are shown in section 2. The reason for this can be that the template used does not support the number of levels created. Most templates support 2 or 3 levels. In the example above the menu consists of menu links in two levels (the Top menu link does not count). The menu link Information is a top level menu item, while Installation, Manaual and Forum are placed on the second level.
